Empowering regulators. Strengthening markets.
We partner with African competition authorities to build market economies that support inclusive growth, resilient food systems, and shared prosperity.
Our experts provide practical legal and economic guidance to strengthen enforcement, remove obstacles to competition, and unlock opportunity.

Our Vision
Fair, sustainable, transparent and stable market economies especially for small-scale producers, SMEs and consumers.
Our Mission
The Advisory Centre for Competition Law & Policy in Africa provides regulators with the expertise, advice, and capacity, to build market economies that sustain socially-inclusive prosperity, stimulate innovation and overcome deep-rooted societal failures such as hunger and malnutrition, poverty and inequality.
How We Achieve This
We believe that a well-functioning market economy offers a pathway for prosperity for all. This is achieved through competition law and policy that is properly regulated and enforced.
However, our work focusing on food and agriculture markets in Africa has identified extensive market failures and competition obstacles which undermine value creation, food security and nutrition.
The recent emergence of competition laws and institutions provides a unique opportunity to reverse this trend and build food and agricultural markets that drive economic transformation and attract public and private finance.
The Advisory Centre on Competition Law & Policy in Africa provides targeted and strategic support to emerging competition authorities with the aim of making significant impact.
